From check-up to colonoscopy, from diagnostic to operation, then chemotherapy.
While only 3 sessions are left, all due in January, it has been a real roller-coaster year, full of emotions, fears, but also hope, improvement, coping, dealing with, and finally surprising old relations by showing up not quite as they imagined a cancer sufferer would look like.
It was a year of fight, not resignation, a year of checking information, and seeing how it applies to me, finding out that it could have been much worse:
- just in time discovery, meaning no late stage IV fight for survival, increased full remission chances
- excellent, and i need to emphasise that, doctors, in particular my surgeon and his colleagues, who made all this seem like a simple in and out procedure, with no lasting effects.
- better than forecasted tolerance of all those treatments, mostly due to a good prior health condition (don't get a grave illness on an already worn-out body, one needs to be in good health when such a thing occurs).
- and above and over all, a tremendous support from my wife, family and friends, this is something money can't buy, and makes a huge difference.
This being said, i wish to all healthy people to stay healthy in 2017, to all cancer sufferers to make dramatic improvements in 2017, leading to full remission to as many as possible!
Stay safe, keep it up, but today is a day of celebrations, so let's indulge...
Happy New Year!
